Add a Video

Explains how to record a video within the tool. To ensure the best experience possible, please review our Basic System Requirements and Check your System before starting your assignment.

Within the Group Project and Individual Project assignments, you can add a video within the project space. We recommend recording within Bongo to get the most out of the tool.

To begin, click the Add button then click the Video icon.

You will be given the option to Record or Upload a video. To view the workflows for each feature, click on the accordion below to expand the instructions.

Record Video

When using Bongo in Firefox 70 within an iframe or private window, screenshare will not work. This was identified as a Firefox bug and fixed in their 70.0.1 release. If you are using Firefox 70, please update to Firefox 70.0.1 to avoid this issue.

Depending on the assignment, you can record yourself, your desktop*, or both.

After checking your preferred option(s)*, select Record Video.

Desktop Share

If you selected the Desktop option, you will be prompted to share Your Entire Screen or an Application WindowClick here for instructions on how to record your webcam and desktop on a single screen.

Select your preferred option and Share.

Let's get ready to start recording!

  1. First, make sure the audio bar is moving. You can also change which camera and mic are being used.
  2. Once you are ready, click Record in the middle of the screen.

Pro Tip

If you are experiencing issues with activating the Bongo recorder because the recorder is unable to access either the camera, microphone or screen-share, try using the Standalone Recorder! This will allow users to work around browser permission issues when accessing Bongo through an embedded environment.

When you have completed your video, click Stop to finish the recording.

You can review/download your video before submitting. If you would like to retry, click the Discard button.

Pro Tip

With Bongo's Auto Analysis™ feature, you can view analysis on every video added to the Work in Progress section before submitting to Individual or Group Assignment, giving you a chance to continuously self-assess, practice, and improve.

You can watch and re-record your video as many times as you like and even combine your videos. Once you're ready to submit your video - as well as your documents or links - you can submit your assignment.
