Explains how to record a video within the tool. To ensure the best experience possible, please review our Basic System Requirements and Check your System before starting your assignment.
Within the Group Project and Individual Project assignments, you can add a video within the project space. We recommend recording within Bongo as shown here to get the most out of the tool, but you can also upload a video if necessary. The maximum length for a recorded or uploaded video is 120 minutes, and the maximum file size is 20GB.
To begin, click the Record Video button.
You will be given the option to record your Camera Only, your Screen Only, or your Camera + Screen at the same time. Additionally, if a video is not required for your submission, you can choose to just record audio.
Desktop Share
If you selected one of the Screen options, you will be prompted to share Your Entire Screen or an Application Window. Click here for more detailed information about how to record your webcam and desktop on a single screen.
Select your preferred option and Share.
Recording the video
Let's get ready to start recording!
- First, make sure the audio bar is moving. You can also change which camera and mic are being used.
- Once you are ready, click Record in the middle of the screen.
Pro Tip
If you are experiencing issues with activating the Bongo recorder because the recorder is unable to access either the camera, microphone or screen-share, try using the Standalone Recorder! This will allow users to work around browser permission issues when accessing Bongo through an embedded environment.
When you have completed your video, click Stop to finish the recording. |
|
You can review/download your video before submitting. If you would like to retry, click the Retry button. |
|
Once you are satisfied with your recording, click the Save button (or Submit Video in Interactive Video). |
Upload information
Time Remaining | Please note that the larger your file size, the longer uploading & processing times will take - especially if you have a poor internet connection. If you receive a processing error, try reducing the file size and uploading it again.
File Size and Format of Video | Maximum video file size is 20GB. The acceptable formats are: asf, avi, flv, m4v, mov, mp4, m4a, 3gp, 3g2, mj2, wmv, mpg, mpeg, wma, mod, mp3, mts, qt, f4v, m2v, webm, ogv, mxf, vob. Bongo offers unlimited cloud storage.
Number of Videos Uploaded | The more videos you upload at a time, the longer the processing time will take.
Upload Speed | Recommended video upload speed is 1 Mbps. |
After saving, your video will begin processing in the Work In Progress section; this can take up to 30 minutes depending on the length of the video.
Pro Tip
With Bongo's Auto Analysis feature, you can view analysis on every video added to the Work in Progress section before submitting to Individual or Group Assignment, giving you a chance to continuously self-assess, practice, and improve.
You can watch and re-record your video as many times as you like and even combine your videos. Once you're ready to submit your video - as well as your documents or links - you can submit your assignment.
