Explains how to enable cookies in Safari browser.
For best performance, follow our Basic System Requirements.
- With the release of Bongo 25.2, Bongo no longer uses cookies to handle user sessions. Usage of cookies previously caused issues when Bongo was embedded in another learning platform, and 3rd-Party /Cross-Site cookies were blocked by the browser. Most users no longer need to enable 3rd-Party /Cross-Site cookies in order to use Bongo when embedded inside another learning platform.
- Cross-Site cookies are still required when using Bongo through D2L Brightspace using the Safari browser.
Pro Tip
If you have multiple browsers on your device, make sure you're launching Bongo from the same browser you used to log into your LMS (Brightspace, Canvas, Blackboard etc). This will help ensure the authentication from your LMS can authenticate you in Bongo as well.
Safari
In desktop Safari, click Safari in the menu bar at the top of your device and select Settings.
Click the Advanced icon and make sure all of the following are unchecked:
- Block all cookies
If you have modified those settings and are still experiencing issues, click on the Privacy icon and uncheck the following as well:
- Prevent Cross-Site Tracking
Please note that some Bongo features and Virtual Classroom are not supported in desktop Safari. For more details, review our Browser Compatibility.
On iPhone or iPad, open the Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced.
Make sure the following is toggled OFF:
- Block All Cookies
Go back to Settings > Apps > Safari. Make sure the following is toggled OFF as well:
- Prevent Cross-Site Tracking
After changing any of the above settings, exit (X) the tab where you accessed Bongo, open a NEW tab and try again. You may need to restart your device.
