Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) is a tool used by your institution to integrate Bongo into your Canvas environment. Your institution has made the decision to implement the newest version of LTI -LTI 1.3/Advantage. Migration of your existing Bongo assignments is a manual one-time process. These are instructions on how to migrate your Bongo assignments in your copied Canvas course.
Instructor Instructions:
In the copied Canvas course, clicking on any of the old Bongo assignment 1.1 links will result in an error message, so a new link will need to be created for each assignment in the course. Future semesters will copy the new links, so this will only be a one-time process.
For the first Bongo link:
- Click on the Bongo assignment link in Canvas. Click Edit Assignment Settings.
2. Under Submission Type, select External Tool from the dropdown, press Find, and select Bongo.
3. Save the assignment.
4. Click the new assignment to open it.
5. Do not click option to Create a Blank Course. Instead, click Show Advanced Options.
Select to Copy an Existing Course.
From here, locate the course from your previous semester, and select Continue.
6. Select Assignment and select Use an Existing Assignment from the bottom of the list.
7. From this list, find the assignment you are creating a new link for.
8. Once it is saved, re-launching this new link will bring you to the assignment overview page, and you can move on to any other assignment you need to migrate.
For subsequent assignments:
The same steps can be followed but step 5 can be skipped because the Bongo content has already been copied to the new course.
Instructional Designer Instructions when using Templates:
If you use templates or master courses, make the edits to the Bongo assignment links within the template/master course following the instructions above. Then any courses made from the template will have the LTI 1.3 links.
